The main issue is longevity. The keyboards of Chiclet can last many years. But they do eventually crack because of wear and wear and tear.
When keys do fail, they can be challenging to fix. For laptops, a broken key typically leads to multiple broken keys. There is no fast fix, and the whole keyboard must be replaced.
