Goodwin Liu Political Association:
Goodwin Liu, associate justice at the California Supreme court, is running for his retention election on November 8th. California Governor Jerry Brown nominated him as Judge in 2011. He won a retention vote in 2014. Jerry Brown, a member of the Democratic Party, served as Secretary and Attorney General for California State.
Goodwill was also a Democrat Parry politician and gave money to Democratic candidates. Liu was also a registered Democrat prior to 20220.
Goodwin LIU Reviews:
Liu is a strong advocate for law and is well-known for his socially liberal approach. He was a strong supporter of abortion rights, same-gender marital status, and affirmative actions. During his first year on the bench, he delivered six judgments. All were unanimous.
Liu has already given 155 opinions in criminal and 84 in civil cases since joining. His 84 civil case opinions included 52 majority judgments, 22 concurrences and 10 dissents.
Goodwin’s 155 opinions in criminal cases consist of 67 majority opinions, with the highest workload for 2018 with 11 opinions. Goodwin LIU Review found that 2014 and 2017 were his least busy years, with five majority opinions per year.
Voting For California Judges:
The majority of voters don’t know that four high-profile judges on the California Supreme Court are seeking their approval. Justice Patricia Guerrero seeks Chief Justice Post. Goodwin Liu, and other judges, are seeking retention on the panel.
